Family to Family Exchange

Purpose

Direct youth exchange between a family in Belgium-Luxembourg and a family abroad. This programme is not a language camp but is intended to offer young people the opportunity to get acquainted with another culture and life environment.

Requirements

Open to students ages 16-18.

Duration

2 to 4 weeks during holiday months July-August.

Deadline

Set by the District.

Selection criteria and sponsorship

Submit application to local Rotary Club.

Procedure

The Rotary Youth Exchange Officer establishes contacts between applicants in his or her District and host families abroad.

Holiday Exchange Programme - HEP-out

This programme is organized by all three Districts (1620, 1630, 2170).

Purpose

Residence of young Belgians in countries within the EEMA zone (*) during holiday periods to develop new friendships abroad.

Requirements

Open to students ages 16-25.

Duration

2 to 4 weeks, according to country of residence.

Deadline

In January if the year of residence.

Selection criteria and sponsorship

Submit application to local Rotary Club.

Residence

With Rotary families or families approved by Rotary or in group.

Hosting exchange students from EEMA zone in Belgium (HEP-in)

Purpose

Promoting international understanding.

Requirements

Open to students ages 16-22, according to chosen programmes and themes.

Duration

Approximately two weeks.

Selection criteria and sponsorship

Submit application to local Rotary Club.

Residence

With Rotary families or families approved by Rotary or in group, in youth hostels.

(*) EEMA: Continental Europe, East Mediterranean, Africa, Great Britain & Ireland.

If you are interested in participating in the Rotary Youth Exchange programme, contact your local Rotary Club. Only after being directed to do so by a local Rotarian should you download and complete an application form. The completed form should be returned to the Rotary Club.
